Well,

I have over analyzed everything to death and am trying to make sure that I got a good ring within my budget. I realize that I can not have everything I may want within my pricerange but any advice (or just the fact that I did good within the $5,500 range) is much appreciated.

I bought from Bluenile.com so if I can do better please let me know and I can return the product. Anyone know about the quality of their bands? It looks very nice however I just want to make sure I did the best I can with what I have.

My girlfriend likes (as all women do) the larger diamonds and I have been trying to balance a larger diamond vs. a quality as I know as much as women say that they like the sparkle when they compare rings to their friends :)

I found the following and it arrived today:

GIA Certification
- .91 Carat Round (6.16-6.20x3.82 mm)
- Color - G
- Clarity - SI1
- Cut - Excellent
- Clarity Characteristics - Crystal - Polish - Very Good
- Symmetry - Excellent
Flourescence - None

Proportions:
Depth - 61.8%
Table - 57%
Crown Angle - 34.5 degree
Pavillian Angle - 40.6 degree
Cutlet - None

HCA Results:
Light Return - Excellent
Fire - Excellent
Scintillation - Excellent
Spread -Very Good

Total Visual Performance 0.9 - Excellent within TIC range

The price of the diamond was $4,038.00
The ring is the following: and was $1,260 (see links for details) Click here for ring info

Thanks sooooooo much in advance!

As long as the stone is eye clean, it is probably a winnder. However, if your girlfriend likes larger diamonds you might want to consider buying from a company that has an upgrade policy in case she wants to get an even larger one for a future anniversary or something. BN doesn''t have an upgrade policy, but WF, GOG, and JA do. In addition, you could drop a couple of grades in color if size is her priority.

This is GREAT advice. I completely agree!

well I voted for your final option, but I was joking. And I say dont drop down in color any more than it is. If you were at an E or F then you could drop down to an H and get a noticeably larger diamond for the price difference with minimal visual color difference, but seeing as how you are already at G and you are so close to 1ct already--so obviously the price hike to hit the 1ct mark is going to be much greater than the price difference in 1 or even 2 color grades, and frankly once set you probably wouldn''t notice the difference between .91 and 1ct unless side by side anyway (unless the 1ct were particularly shallow), so I say stick with your G, its a fantastic color!

The only concern I would have is how exact that 40.6 degree angle is. In and of itself its a fine angle to be sure, but its getting towards the low end to be couples with a 34.5 crown angle I believe, so without more information like some optical symmetry images or a good IS image you cant really say if there are going to be any light leakage issues or not.

and I cant open the link with your setting, but regardless of all else I have a feeling she is going to be really happy. so unless you see some other option that looks particularly enticing I think you have it made buddy! congratulations!
