Sooo I'm new to the forum and don't know much about gemstones except that they are one of the most beautiful, wondrous and enticing gifts we receive from the land we inhabit.

These are guesses and anybody who comments on this thread will be guessing I'm afraid (some of course will be educated guesses) BUT the only way to be sure is to take them to a local jewellers and do a simple RI test (refractive index). This will give you a much better indication.

My guesses are:-

1. Could be a number of gemstones including topaz, aqua or sapphire (although I think that ones unlikely).
2. Peridot - what's going on with the cut on this one?
3. Sapphire
4. Tourmaline

Thanks for the educated guesses. ..its much appreciated....I think your right on all of them and the first one I am leaning towards aqua or actually tourmaline believe it or not...when you see the stones in person the first one and the last one seem to have very similar optical properties and internal characteristics (from what I THINK I see with my own two eyes and a loupe). These stones are all pretty banged up actually I got them at a pawn shop for about $10 lol....I had a whole lot more but i moved and wasn't really into collecting them back then and they either got lost stolen or roughed up. I'm definitely going back to that pawn shop to get some more...the guy had an entire quart sized glass jar full of colored stones...some synthetic some real...he obviously doesnt think the colored stones are worth much as I knowvthosr types of shops mainly deal in gold and diamonds...
