But I want a medium color blue... Since they are so small.. 1.5mm I want something a little bit darker so they will be seen- I dont want really dark... or really light.. a medium.. :-)

here is what I am trying to do is change out the surprise diamonds in this setting to aquas (I tried blue topaz but the jeweler said that they dont make them that small... so I need your help pretty please!!! :-)

Thanks!! :-)

Oh boy ... I forsee a nightmare ahead here. Do you have a lot of experience with re-doing jewelry like that? Things do not always go well. You''re more likely IMHO to RUIN that ring trying to change it just a teensy tiny little bit. The upside gain is just not worth the SIZEABLE risk+cost.

I asked the jeweler and they said they would definitely be able to do it.. it would cost a little bit more to change it but it could definitely be done... :-)

I would leave it to the jeweller to source the aquas. Most vendors do not sell such tiny gemstones - there's just no demand and the time and effort to source it isn't worth the asking price.

Note that aquas in that size will most likely be very light in colour, almost clear with just a hint of blue green. The search may be long and hard to find a medium blue melee aqua.

Would you be willing to use irradiated blue diamonds? Those can be a beautiful, almost tourquoise, color. Your jeweler can source those, too.

I think it would be easier to find 2 light blue sapphires. There are plenty of those around, usually aimed at those degrade rings (going from very light blue all the way through to a very dark stone).

I thought light sapphires too. Why the aquas? Are they birthstones?

Your jeweler can source them from Stuller, but look at how pale they are. I don't know that you will notice the color at all with that size aqua.
