So I wasn''t sure where to post this, so I hope Rocky Talk is okay.

Today FF and I went to see the diamond that he had picked out for me and had sent to our jeweler. It''s a 1.22 ct cushion and it''s GORGEOUS! I am so happy with it! The only problem is, when we were there, I saw the setting I had originally settled on a couple of months ago, and it is SO not as pretty as I remembered. And it''s just not "me".

I have always always wanted a pave cushion halo with milgrain and a thin delicate band. I have always been drawn to the Tiffany Legacy (I mean c''mon, who''s not?) and something similar to it is really my dream ring. I guess I had just picked out this other setting because we had been to literally every jewelery store in our area and frankly I was getting tired of seeing so many things that just weren''t right and I just really wanted to be engaged to my amazing guy! But alas, we have both realized that it would be really wrong of me to settle on a ring that I''m not in love with.

So now I pose my question to all you amazing and knowledgeable PSers. Is it possible to get what I''m looking for on a budget of $1,500-$1,800 (maaaaaybe $2,000 at the most, but that''s pushing it)??? So many of you have these INCREDIBLE cushion halos and I''m just hoping and praying that we can find the ring of my dreams at a price that won''t kill us.

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this and I''d really appreciate any help!

xoxo

Congrats on finding your cushion. The setting you are seeking, is going to cost upwards of 2k. I''d work with www.engagementringdirect.com and see what Mark can do for you. Leon Mege will cost more, but best to ask, www.theartofplatinum.com and www.goodoldgold.com ask for Jonathon. And last but not least, www.whiteflash.com ask for Lesley. See who comes up with the best price. The quality of the setting is key, so don''t scrimp. Otherwise you''ll have setting issues down the road. fyi....

The Vatche Grace gets my vote too. Lovely Legacy inspired piece. But prong set instead of bezel (which I personally prefer)...although I'm sure if you called them and asked for it, they'd be willing to bezel set it for you as well (if that's the look you prefer).

Our custom setting came in a tad under 2K in platinum, but I''m not convinced it''s a price/quality combo that can be easily replicated on the open market.

Another vote for the Vatche Grace

ditto..

Thank you thank you thank you everybody!!! This was such a nice surprise for me to wake up to, especially because I was having setting nightmares all night long! Haha.

Kaleigh - I just emailed Mark at ERD last night letting him know my budget and the kind of thing I''m interested, so hopefully something good comes of that! Thanks for your input! I''ll definitely try the other places too!

Deelight - Omg THANK YOU! That legacy replica from exceldiamonds is perfect! And perfect price! Yay! I''m definitely showing that to FF when he gets home!

Gypsy - Thanks for posting those pictures! The Grace is soooo beautiful! But I can''t decide if I like bezel set or prongs better for a legacy style. Is there much of a difference as far as safety of the diamond, light performance, etc? Or is it purely just aesthetic?

Custom - Your ring is absolutely gorgeous! Haha it''s amazing rings like yours that have really been making me think about wanting to halo my cushion. What kind of band are you planning to wear with it?

mssalvo - Well I can''t say enough about your ring! The Empress setting is one that I originally wanted to look into for my cushion after seeing your spectacular ring, but although I haven''t gotten a price quote back from them yet, I''m positive it''s way out of our budget. But it is AMAZING! And thanks for your vote for the Grace! I''m definitely considering it!

Girlie-girl - Thanks for that link! That ring is also gorgeous! And definitely one I hadn''t seen before! I really appreciate your input!

Again, thanks to everyone for their help! And to anyone else who can offer any other help it would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!
