OK, I am soooo pissed at DH right now!!!
29.gif

I wasn''t home yesterday and DH was. Our 8-month-old French Bulldog puppy, Tucker, has a tendency to chew on things that he shouldn''t unless you''re keeping a close eye on him. DH is fully aware of this, but DH took a nap on the couch and didn''t put Tucker in his crate. So, of course, Tucker decided to go looking for things to chew on while Dad was asleep! I had just washed my favorite sweater and it was laying at the end of our bed to dry. Tucker pulled it down and CHEWED A HOLE IN IT!!! (Incidentally, he shredded the hand towel that was hanging in our bathroom at the same time!)

It was a beautiful wine color, and it was the result of several months of searching for a burgundy/wine colored sweater. Seriously, I searched and searched and it took me forever to find one! It was a v-neck boucle sweater and I got it from Victoria''s Secret a few months ago. Of course, I checked the VS website and of course they don''t carry it anymore.

So if anyone can recommend anywhere to find a similar sweater, I would greatly appreciate it!

Ugh, that sucks! Bad puppy!

Did you try ebay?

Oh NO. When you said that color I immediately thought VS because I have the burgundy broucle sweater, but mine is a scoop neck. I can''t believe that they are not carrying them anymore. I would call customer service and ask because they may still have them, but the catalog and online are offering different things because of a current sale or something. I know that my most recent catalog really didnt have a lot of sweaters. I think it is worth a try. They may have them in the warehouse and plan on putting them in on the next sale or something.

I am on the phone with VS now. I checked and she said they do not have anymore. I asked when they will be getting more and she said that they probably will not get anymore until next season. I understand how you feel, but I would wait. As far as I know VS is the only store that carrys them and it will be a disappointment to get one elsewhere and spend the money for it to not be the same.

Thanks, Oobie! I did check eBay . . . no luck.

RQ, you''re so sweet for checking with VS for me! Thank you! I have a pair of dark grey cords that I always wore with that sweater, and I don''t know what else to wear with those cords. Hmmm . . . maybe I should get some other sweater in some other color for now just to hold me over, and then get another burgundy boucle one from VS when they come out again next season! I just KNEW I could find a way to spin this to my advantage! LOL!

Was it sleeveless? I found three sleeveless, wine colored, boucle sweaters by VS....

ONE

TWO

Three

Sparkly ~ Nope, it had long sleeves and a v-neck. I''m not totally set on a v-neck . . . a crew neck or scoop neck would be OK too . . . but it needs to have long sleeves. Thanks, though!

It doesn''t seem like that hard of a task to find a sweater in a relatively common color - how strange! Did you try all of the other basic stores like jc penny and sears? Maybe it''s not fancy but they may have something!

here are 3 from jcpenny - I searched sweater and looked through the first half of the 26 pages of sweaters... not sure if any of these are close enough of what other parameters you have like material... but I have a really hard time believing its not out there!!

just an idea for another color, i got a rich jewel teal colored sweater this season, don''t remember where but i loved it with grey cords. it''s not garish teal but more like an emeraldy teal. might be another option in case you can''t find the right wine. good luck!

Sorry about your sweater! My pup ate my favorite black leather pump. Just the one.

Did you say EBay was ok? Here''s a Prada sweater in wine with gray elbow patches:

Whitby ~ Thank you, dear! And please show us the dresses you got . . . I could use some new dresses, too!

Sparkly ~ You should buy it! Get the smallest size they offer and your kitty can wear it!

Sara ~ I know! You would think this would be easy! I hadn''t checked JC Penney''s or Sears . . . good ideas! And I really like the first one from JC Penney''s that you posted! Thanks!
1.gif

LAJen ~ The first one you posted is almost the exact one! Except mine was a v-neck and that one is a scoop neck, which is OK . . . I do like the scoop neck too! The only problem is, that one is an XL and I need a M or maybe L. And the one in your other post is a really low v-neck so I''d have to wear something under it and I''m trying to stay away from that. D''oh!
14.gif

Mara ~ That''s a good idea! I hadn''t thought of emerald/teal!

Linda ~ Thanks for the links! I''m loving the alpaca one!

Tell me what you ladies think of this one. It''s not wine/burgundy colored obviously, but I thought maybe either the "nightshade" or "natural" color might look OK with my dark grey cords? And then I could get the same VS sweater that Tucker shredded when they come back out next fall. What do you all think? Would the "nightshade" or "natural" look better with dark grey cords? (I''m thinking the black one might be too monotone if I wear it with cords that are that close to the same color, right?) Thanks again, ladies!

ooh - pretty! i like the nightshade one.

but i also love mara''s idea of deep teal - yum with grey!

and i bought 2 *evening* dresses! so unless you''d like something to wear to a formal party, or a black tie wedding, you won''t have much use for these!

Oh, Whitby, unfortunately I don''t have anything formal to go to . . . what I need is work dresses!

But I''d still love to see what you got!

Emm- Have you tried Macys.com? they have tons of gorgeous sweaters!.... and many on sale. so sorry about the sweater. I hope you find a fantastic one soon!

okie dokie - here they are. this first one was for my best girlfriend. the detail on it, if you look closely, is lovely!

link.

it's a great deal for an all silk dress!

and for me, something pretty restrained. my coloring is very light - blond hair, pale skin, light colored eyes etcetc

link.

if you click the 'view larger image' button, it gives a better view. i just thought it looked nicely made and comfortable to wear and will suit my body type and coloring.

it's always handy for me to have a couple of dresses like this in my wardrobe; i can *never* find what i want if i need one in a hurry.

D&T ~ Thanks for the tip! I''ll definitely have to give Macy''s a try!

Whit ~ Those are GORGEOUS!!! I like them both, but I loooove the one you got for yourself! Just beautiful!
36.gif

thanks irish :)

i''m angling for a large pair of pearl and diamond earrings, and i wanted a dress which...um...didn''t detract from my jewelry.... (!!!)

(laughing sheepishly)

The nightshade would look awesome with gray cords! I vote yes.

Kareyn ~ HahaHAA!!! Spoken like a true PSer!
2.gif

LP ~ Thanks! DH likes the nightshade one too . . . I''m thinking I need it!

Bree, I loooove that one! But I can''t have it. I''m boycotting RL ever since The Great Airbrushed Model Fiasco.
