Hey,

Please could anyone recommend a good Jeweller in the UK? Don't mind where in the UK - am happy to drive =)

The reason I ask is since having my engagement ring in November 2012 the stone has come loose 8 times. I can hear it rattling. We have gone back to my jeweller every time and he just re tightens it, but it is starting to get on my nerves. The last time I was there he passed comment that "all diamonds rattle - I am just paranoid and I should just relax as it is insured" :angryfire: Needless to say I am never going back there again....

So I need to find a good reputable jeweller to get it reset. I want to change the setting entirely - I am even thinking halo. I would like it to match my wedding band too. :twirl:

I wish I could send it to some of the amazing Jewellers mentioned on here, but as they are all in the US, I would have to then pay hefty import taxes wouldn't I, as it would be a complete ring being shipped back?

Thanks

xx

No one knows of reputable jeweller? :((

Track down PS member John Pollard of Crafted by Infinity, I believe that they have an authorized dealer in London, who at the very least would be able to recommend a jeweler for you...

Or contact Rob van Beurden and his team. They are located in Antwerp but also have a branch in London.

I am in the same boat as you: I am located in Europe and Victor Canera from LA has made my setting. He made my setting without having my center stone. That could be a possibility for you as well but it is only possible if you have a rather symmetrical stone and I am not sure whether it is possible with a halo design.

You indeed might need to pay customs over the entire ring. Perhaps you could send the stone and have it shipped back separately from the setting with the required papers! But I am not sure about the UK rules. I did not want to run the risk.
