Hi,

Please help me decide between two stones. Opinions are greatly appreciated!

#1. 1.27 G VS2 Round brilliant #2. 1.35 H VS2 Round brilliant

Based on paper only. I''d go with #1 because it is a higher color grade and I don''t think you will see much visual difference between a 1.27 and a 1.35. At this point it is splitting hairs when you think that the difference is hundreths of a millimeter. If you put 4 $1 bills together, that equals 1mm. So $1 by itself has a width of .25 mm.

Good Hunting!

I"d go for whichever one has the lower price.

These are i d e n t i c a l ... by all means!

Out of 10 Sarin measurements taken for each stone, I would seriously bet at least one match

No way these could have been measured down to a tenth of degree or milimeter - these tools are not so precise.

And... grading labs guarantee their color and clarity grading to be precise (meaning, repeatable upon regrading) down to half a degree. So the jury is out if these two particular G and H show any difference of color to speack of.

Hi,
If the size difference is so slight why would anyone bother buying anything between 1.26-1.35? For some reason I am able to see the size difference even though it''s only .15 mm. Is it just me?

Yeah... I guess you can see something... at leats with the stones not set and one near the next. Once set in a solitaire, is the tenth of milimeter still very visible ?
IMO, this is so little as to not count. Why would anyone pay for the extra whiff of weight that shows only so little ? No idea. ;)

So one should buy either a 1.25 or jump straight to a 1.50 to see a size difference? Anything in between is a waste of money?
