Hello,
I have been reading on pricescope for some months now, but now it's time for a first post, as I really need your help to take the final decisions.
Initially, I intended to buy a RB, 0.4ct, D-F color, VS2 or better from Bluenile. After having educated myself on pricescope, I realised that I could easily drop in clarity and color, without noticing any visual difference, as long as I stay with an ideal cut diamond. I also learned the importance of seeing actual photos, ASET and Idealscope images of the stone, which led me to Whiteflash. After having seen some diamonds in local stores, I knew that 0.5-0.6ct is the carat range I prefer.
The point where I am still hesitating is which color and clarity grades to choose. Here are three Whiteflash ACA diamonds within my budget:
1) 0.591 H SI1 ACA

2) 0.518 F SI1 ACA

3) 0.525 H VS2 ACA

- Number 1 is the biggest of the three stones.
- Number 2 is smaller, but has a better color than Number 1.
- Number 3 is smaller, but has a better clarity than number 1.
Which one the the three would you choose. Will there be any visual difference between the three stones, except for the size?
For the setting, I am currently considering the Vatche Royal X-prong.

For the chosen diamond size, I think that it would fit better than the normal X-Prong, as the band tapers down where it reaches the diamond. This setting in platinum is available at Whiteflash for $1,949. I am not sure if it is reasonable to spend the same amount on the setting than on the stone, but until now I haven't found any other setting that I really like. What do you think about this choice?
Thanks so much in advance for your help!
Marc
