Hello!

I have been enjoying reading Pricescope for years now, and I love seeing everyone's beautiful jewelry! I'm hoping to get a bit of advice from the community.

My wonderful husband wants to give me a special gift -- a diamond solitaire or an eternity band, whichever I prefer. Very tough decision, that one! I am trying to keep the purchase around $3,500 or so (could possibly inch up a bit if needed). (My original engagement ring is a 0.22 carat Tiffany & Co solitaire that I still adore and may set into a pendant one of these days if I can bear to change it.)

If I choose an eternity band, I am eyeing BGD's Dream Band (full eternity with 3-point stones in 18k rose gold) for about $2,500. If I choose a solitaire, I am looking at BGD's Tiffany-style settings in 18k rose gold ($850) and something like a mid-0.6 carat size with I color and VS2 clarity. I actually really love that size. I tried it on once at Tiffany and it seemed just right on my hand. That size also gives me lots of options down the line (finances permitting!) to perhaps reset as a three-stone (like JuneRose's lovely ring!), add a delicate diamond band, etc.

If I choose the solitaire, would something like this stone be a good one?

I have actually posted about this sort of issue before (a long while back), but I still keep getting hung up on / confused about clarity when I look at VS2 plots. They often seem to have either a lot or very large inclusions. I'm assuming (but would ask) that I wouldn't see anything without a loupe? On the surface, a stone like this seems perfect. I'm just not sure if I should let the inclusion plot bother me. Maybe it's the kind of thing where it seems important now, but I'd never think about it now once the ring was on my hand...

Any guidance is greatly appreciated! This is a really significant and emotional purchase for me, so I don't want to mess up! Thank you so much!
