Please help me choose melee size for my 6.5mm sapphire

I recently purchase the 6.55mm round pink (with a touch of purple) sapphire from Gene and found the below setting I am thinking of having it set in. It’s a stock setting, with the halo diamond melee measuring 1.2mm and the side diamond melee varying from 0.9mm-1.1mm. I can modifying the diamond size to any size I would like, and am thinking of going bigger, but I’m just not sure what size would look best? My skin has a pinkish tone to it, so I would like to have a defined row of diamonds in the halo so the stone doesn't get lost next to my skin.
Any help or suggestions on melee size would be appreciated!


The CADs are for a 4mm stone, so it will look a bit different with my 6.55mm stone:

I would recommend at least 1.5mm, as high as 2.5mm, depending on how "chunky" of a halo you'd want.

Thank you @voce ! I remembered this chart from Yvonne has been referenced before and it’s helpful to see the different melee sizes around a stone. My stone is between the two circled sizes, but it still gives an idea of the different look of a 1.5mm vs 2.0mm melee halo.

I’m thinking I will be going with 1.7mm melee. I found this mock-up in an old thread showing 1.7mm with a 7mm stone, my 6.55mm would have one less diamond in the halo. I’m wondering how this will look with the pave in a round, framed type halo instead of a cut away or scalloped halo? Will there be noticeable gaps between the diamonds at the outer edge of the halo frame, or will the spaces be too small to be noticed? Any help would be appreciated, as I am clueless when it comes to design.
