Thanks for reading this, I really appreciate how much a resource this community has been during my diamond search. I'm trying to decided between two stones to be set in a platinum pave setting. Option 1 is smaller but has better color. Also, it has an HCA score of .5 which makes me nervous that it will be a little dark.

Here are the specs for the two stones -

Option 1
1.35 Carat H-VS1
Shape: Round
Carat Weight: 1.35
Cut: Excellent
Color: H
Clarity: VS1
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 60%
Table: 56%
Crown Angle: 33.0
Pavilion Angle: 41.0
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Thin - Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 7.22 - 7.23 x 4.34 mm

Option 2
1.5 Carat I-VS1
Shape: Round
Carat Weight: 1.5
Cut: Excellent
Color: I
Clarity: VS1
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 61.8%
Table: 56%
Crown Angle: 34.0
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Medium - Slightly Thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 7.33 - 7.36 x 4.54 mm

Is there a reason you've picked stones with such high clarity?

Number 2 has better numbers. Than #1. The crown is low on #1. You want a crown of 34-36 with a good HCA. And a depth no more than 62.4 ideally.

I'd prefer H color for a halo though.

That said, I would ideally prefer a stone that is in the H SI1 (eyeclean) or better range with better numbers than the 1st stone.
