Hello All,
I need to start gathering info on obtaining insurance for my e-ring and I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to send me their agents' contact info. Please note that I live in NYC (I am not sure if that makes a difference or not). Thanks so much.

You may have a hard time with Chubb, definitely try the guy Haven mentioned. Mine told me when I referred a bunch of folks that they don't write policies for just jewelry anymore, and apparently the amount makes no difference though I have been told anything below 50K or 100K, that theyh ave to have your house/cars as well to do it.

There have been people here recently who did stand alone Chubb policies. The challenge is finding an agent who will do it. The more valuable the ring, the more likely you are to be successful.

I have a Chubb insurance policy on my ring.

I asked William about Chubb no longer covering stand alone policies. Here's what he said on Feb 7 of this year.

about two years ago Chubb stopped writing stand alone policies but in many instances
a small policy covering a rental apartment or coop will suffice to be able to write the jewelry policy with no minimum
amount for the jewelry item.. I will be very happy to provide any interested party with a quote.

Since Chubb, directly, stopped writing stand alone jewelry policies I contacted a wholesaler who represents
Chubb and Total Dollar Management was admitted as one their brokers enabling us to continue writing Jewelry
policies but the minimum amount of the scheduled jewelry for one or more items is $25K

Hello Everyone,

Many thanks for all of your responses. So I did talk to William and he said that Chubb in fact no longer issues stand alone policies and that I would have to also buy a renter's policy (even then the price was very high).

He then informed me about Traveller's insurance. I would have to also buy a renter's policy but the quote was much more affordable than the Chubb one (around $700/year), although still high because I am forced to buy two policies.

I looked into a few others and I think that I am going to start a new thread with the pros and cons of each after I have done more research and have you all chime in.
