Actually, the diamond in that thread was 40.6 PA 34.3 CA. Though it may seem close numerically, when we are talking about the tight ideal range 40.9 PA 35 CA is at the opposite end of the borders of ideal.Date: 1/5/2006 9:57:42 PM

Wow. This is very complex. I didn''t realize that a number difference that small could mean so much. I thought that an ideal cut stone is an ideal cut stone and that was all there was to it. I didn''t realize that there were good ideal cut stones and less good ideal cut stones. I am sure, however, that since this stone is in the expert selection, it is still a beautiful stone at a good value. I guess what I am learning from all of this is that it won''t be the brightest, sparkliest stone I''ve ever seen, but will be a great stone for the price that will out perform most average cut, non-ideal diamonds.
