The price seems too low when compared to other diamonds in the same color/clarity/size range.

Is the lgf% too low? Do the chunky arrows affect its performance?
Is the stone too deep?

Who has told you it is "eye-clean"? Or, have you determined this with your own eyes?
How old is the GIA diocument?
Is the spelling of Culet (Cutlet) a typo or doesn't the seller know how to spell it? It is a small detail, but may hint at some lack of knowledge. We are looking for any weaknesses. I imagine it is nothing but a typo. I like my cutlets large and my culets small.

The rest looks darned nice.

Hello,
No, I haven''t determined that it is "eye-clean" with my own two eyes. I know that each vendor has their own definition for "eye-clean." This stone is from James Allen and is eye-clean according to their standards. Through searching the topics on PS, I found out that at one time, another PSer had been interested in this stone as well. He stated in his posts that it had been confirmed as being eye-clean as well. Kinda makes me wonder if he didn''t purchase it b/c there was something wrong with it?

Anywho, the culet/cutlet typo was my mistake. I didn''t copy and paste the info, I typed it in, so I guess I over looked that. I have only ever purchased earrings from WF and have not dealt with any other vendors, but I was under the impression that James Allen is a reputable vendor as well. Am I safe to assume that one of JA''s H&A is equivalent to an ACA from WF, or is there going to be some notable difference?

The GIA certificate is from March 2007. Is there something I should know?

Well, thanks for your opinion. I am assuming since you didn''t say anything, that the depth and lgf% looked ok to you! This one seems too good to be true.

Any other opinions...

Thanks :)

Probably no meaningful or visual difference. An ACA diamond typically has the same proportions as the JA stone you referenced.

How strict or loose is your definition of H&A? H&A has no widely agree-upon definition. Every vendor will have their own definition of H&A just like ideal. In my opinion, the only way to judge H&A is to see or get H&A pictures of the diamonds you are considering and see if it passes your test.

The stone looks very nice. I prefer slightly lower depth, but the stone should still perform well. The LGF is fine.

Well, I don''t necessarily have a definition for what I expect in a H&A. I have a pair of diamond stud earrings from WF; one is an ACA and the other an ES. I can see well defined arrows in each. More importantly though, is the amount of sparkle that they have. They are so bright and flashy. I don''t know if that is attributed to the fact that they are H&A stones, or that they are ideal cut stones. Basically though, I just want to know that the JA H&A can be as sparkly and beautiful as the ACA that I have.

Since I have purchased jewelry from WF before, I would prefer to get an ACA diamond, however they do not have anything in their inventory that meets my criteria for a similar price: F-G, SI1-SI2, Ideal cut, around $10k.

Then I think you''ll be happy with it. Hey and since you have an ACA, I guess you can make the comparison yourself! My whole blurb about H&A is that any vendor (internet or brick and mortar) who markets something as H&A, I''d like to see the H&A. Anyway, I think you''ll be happy with it, I''ve bought something in the past with very similar parameters.

Thanks, I hope so! I may just wait about a week or so to see if WF gets anything in that is comparable. One other negative for me about JA is the upgrade policy. I would definately utilize WF''s upgrade policy, but probably not JA''s since they require that you upgrade to 2x the value.

Thanks again :)

I almost coughed myself into a heart attack!!!!!!!(I have the flu and this was so funny).

I have seen this done more than once here on PS. Is our subconscious trying to tell us something.
