I have been looking at this site for some time now and really respect the advise given. I am currently looking at the following stone and would love to hear some thoughts...

princess cut 1.23 ct
6.05 x 6.06
F color
very good cut, very good polish & symmetry
SI2 - twinning wisp
i think its about $6700

to be honest, the twinning wisp is making me nervous. i CAN see it without the loop from the side, BUT looking down into the stone, i can''t. The stone itself is beautiful viewing from the top. Is it worth giving in on the clarity to get a great cut and great color? Is the twinning wisp going to be a duribility issue? I am torn because if it wasnt an SI2 I wouldnt have had a second thought about it.

I forgot to mention it has a GIA report and medium girdle

What is the table and depth %? Without knowing these 2 numbers, I can't tell if it's a great cut.

i think its 71% depth. I dont remember the exact numbers, I looked at so many, but this one stood out as the nicest cut. I know that the gia report said the cut & polish & symmetry was very good

A VG Cut and polish do not does not mean that the diamond is well cut. It is all the angles and percentages and tells you if it is well cut. GIA does not grade its cut based on light performance, which is why the table & depth % are very important, as is the crown height.

unfortunately i do not have that information. but without it, is there any information you can give me regarding the SI2 clarity - twinning wisp? is it bad that i can see it if i look through the side with an unaided eye? and, does it pose any other issues as far as durability?

With an SI2, you are most likely able to see the inclusion from the side. That is normal. As for the wisp, it doesn't reach the surface, right? Where is the location of the inclusion? Are there any more inclusions in the stone (the inclusion plot will show you everything)?

I do not think the wisp reaches the surface. I dont think there was much else as far as inclusions go. On the diagram, it is a little scarry to be honest, because it shows it as a zig zag line extending from one side to the other, but not touching the ends (if that makes sense). With the loop, i can see it clearly, it covers much of the bottom half of the stone. But that is only with a loop and no one is going to be looping it on a daily basis. But just looking straight into it without the loop, I would never know it was there. Also, when i was looking from the side, i had said to the jeweler that i saw 2 but he said it was one, i was seeing the reflection thinking it was another one. I thought that made sense, what do you think? Should I just give up on it? What is bugging me is that visually it is beautiful and sparkles clear. A bigger stone i was looking at was a good cut on the gia report, but the center looked like a mess, like the facets were totally unorganized (again, if that makes any sense). I do not want anything like that. I thought this one seemed perfect, but i dont want to be sorry later. I am confused.
