$9970. 1.26 carat, GIA ex/ex/ex/no fluorescense. F Color, VS2. Table 55, crown 34.5, pavilion 40.8, depth 61.4, girdle thin-medium faceted (3%). HCA score 1.2

For a full GIA report, the part number to search on blue nile is "LD04310752"

This is a very good looking stone, as local jewelers have told me. They also said that they could not really see the cloud, and that the inclusion grade is closer to a VS1. Regardless, it does bother me that there is no GIA laser inscription on this stone, as there is no other way I can identify this stone in the near future. I was curious to send it to AGS for re-evaluation, and to see how it would compare to the GIA report.
I was hoping if somebody could go over the specs of this stone, and to see what the chances of this stone geting AGS 000. I would not want to sent it to AGS, and to have it graded worse than the GIA, thus devaluing the stone. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Also, when I do send it to AGS, which report should I request? Some AGS reports, I see the heart and arrows (two idealscope images) on the report, whereas some i only see the arrows (1 idealscope images). How do I request to have both images on the report. Thanks in advance.

an engraved stone would need a microscope to read.

if your stone is not engraved, you (or a jeweler) could still use a microscope to find the inclusions that are plotted on the GIA diagram.

You want the Platinum Diamond Quality Document.

I'm not sure if you are able to do ASETs for front and back views, I'm under the impression that this is one of their special products for retailers/jewelers, where AGS also prints store/brand logos onto the report... in any case the one with both views isn't the standard version of the Pl DQD.

Well you would have to go to an AGS jeweler/member to submit your stone to AGSL, I don't believe the public can submit directly.

The first report is probably from a retailer who has kind of "personalized" the Pl DQD, usually with their name and/or logo, and they have formatted the report to include the back view of the stone. Traditionally, diamond lab reports did not include names/logos unless it was engraved on the stone (it would be noted under "additional comments.")

You can request it. If may/may not be available, and it may cost extra.

If you laser inscribe your diamond, in addition to the already inscribed GIA report, you may void your return policy with any vendor.

I plan on regrading it by AGS after my return period has passed. I am fairly certain that I will keep the stone regardless, but would just like extra reassurance, and an inscription so that I can easily identify it in the future. Could someone comment on whether the stone in question would fare well in AGSL (i.e. AGS 000) by the numbers alone? thanks in advance.

Thank you for the reply. I have asked blue nile if they could send it for re-grade by AGS, and they said they can, but couldn't tell me the price at this time. But when I get more serious about it, I think I will go this route.

anybody else have a thought regarding the chance of this diamond getting AGS 000 in cut? thx
