It has a natural at the girdle (picture attached). It looks like a feather. The person looking at it said it is the natural at the girdle. It also has a very very tiny crystal in the center. No feather breaks the surface.

I'm thinking about having an appraiser look at it, but I don't want to pay for shipping ($200) and appraisal and not have anything to show for it.

My biggest concern is the natural. I have never seen one on a diamond. If the diamond is eye clean, can a natural still be visible?

It''s probably not an issue at all, but I''ll let a real expert chime in. If they say it''s eye clean, it likely is.

you may or may not be able to see it while the stone is loose, but once set, with a prong placed over it you should be golden.

My diamond has a natural on the girdle I cannot even see it with the loupe!

Honestly, if I''m spending this much on the diamond I''d spend a little tiny bit more to get that appraisal. I''m getting an appraisal for a much, much cheaper diamond. I know I''d need one for piece of mind with such a large purchase.

But to each his own!

I will definitely get the appraisal. I just want to see if anyone could find anything wrong with this diamond before I spend the money to ship it and appraise it. I''m still a little concerned about the natural. Thanks!
