Hello everyone,

Just wanted to thank everyone first for their contributions to this forum. I've learned a lot over the past few weeks while lurking and just recently decided to post on here to ask for a few suggestions. I'm hoping to keep my budget to around $7k-ish for the stone, maybe a little more or less. My total budget for the entire ring is about $8k max. Is that ratio a little too imbalanced? I'm looking for the best bang for buck with my budget and I hope I can get your thoughts on what would be best for what I'm looking for.

Again, quick notes:

Budget: $8k total for ring

Likes: Twirly style settings or simplier settings. No halo designs.

Priority order: 1) Cut, 2) Carat, 3/4) Color and Clarity are a toss up.

I've got these two below listed in mind, and would love to welcome any suggestions anyone else may feel is appropriate.

I'm looking at the reports and I'm wondering if stones with those included twining wisps, other flaws/etc are of a concern for me. I'm still learning about whether or not they are a big factor in the integrity/performance of the stone. Is there anything else I need to know about that I may have missed? Thank you everyone and please let me know which you would pick, and if there are any others that may be better.

Would she be interested in a bigger size than 1 carat? The stones you picked don't line up with your priority list. You can easily go lower in both color and clarity and get a bigger stone. Also, this isn't something I'm really familiar with and maybe someone else can chime in, but I think especially in stones in the DEF range, you want to check and make sure that strong blue fluorescence doesn't affect the appearance of the stone.

get something bigger that's a G color and eye clean SI2

I will differ in that I like a stone with good color and clarity. But I do think you can go to G-H color and VS2 clarity especially if the stone has fluorescence.

She is primarily interested in a balanced stone, with some room to budge here in there as long as it doesn't cause the stone to be significantly weaker in a different area. I guess another way to say it is that she doesn't want to give up too much or go down too far in any one area. I get the feeling a VS2 would be the lowest clarity grade for her preference. I've read that the florescence rating isn't a big deal or noticeable normally. Is this true?

I'm also interested in learning more about the flaws such as twinning wisps/crystals/feather/etc that are included in the stone. What are your thoughts on the charts I included? Should they be of concern?

Thank you.

Would it be better for me to look at a stone with all else equal but H-J color with Strong-Very strong flourescence? I've heard this helps cancels out the yellow/blue effect in the stone. Is this the case in regular light/everyday wear?

It would seem that there is a much larger selection for me to choose from with those parameters instead, along with higher levels of clarity and larger size stone.

Thank you.
