Just when I thought I found a good EC diamond, I learned from this site that for EC diamonds, numbers don't represent everything. I've read and learned so much from this site, I am hoping you guys can confirm if my choice is good or not. And if not, can maybe help me find a better diamond.

I am waiting for the ASET image.

Wondering if it looks okay so far or there is something clearly wrong from just looking at the pics/video. Thanks!

It's very difficult to buy fancy cuts such as emeralds based on numbers only. I would ask JA for an idealscope image.

D'oh! Just saw you're waiting for the ASET. It looks like a gorgeous stone to me, if a little excessive on the clarity. You could drop to VVS2 if you wanted to save without compromising.

JA allows up to 3 ASETs but only all in one go. Tell them to hold off on this one until you are able to find 2 more potential ECs.
What are your requirements (size, colour, clarity, budget, etc)?

I am not an expert, just a lover of all things EC. The stone looks good to my untrained eyes, however, I would not pay the premium for having an IF clarity grade myself (my own is an E VS1).

Good luck with your search.

DK :))

Ah, I did not know I had to get the ASETs all in one go, thanks for letting me know, I'll need to tell them right away.

The reason I chose this stone was because even though it was IF, it was only $20,500 which was only $60 more expensive then this G VVS2 of almost same size:

The price was good but also worried me on why it was relatively cheaper, maybe there is something wrong with it that I'm not seeing. Their chat agent reassured me but I'm not sure how much word I can take from that.

My requirements are L/W ratio around 1.4, eye clean so preferably at least VS1 (?), try to be colorless so at least G, largest L/W size without compromising quality of course. Budget is 18,000 - 22,000 loose diamond only.

*edit* Thinking it some more, maybe I'll use the 2nd ASET on the G VVS2 to compare with the IF incase the VVS2 is better. If they are the same, I am fine with spending $60 more for mind clean. If anyone has a third diamond to suggest, or think I don't need to checkout the G VVS2 one, please let me know.

Bump,

One of the james allen diamonds the chat agent said was dead in the middle so decided not to look into that. However, I have found 2 diamonds on White Flash that seem pretty good.

The main worry I have is both seem to have high depth and relatively small table, no idea how that affects the optics and if it is good or bad. One of the chat agents on WF provided pics for both of them, but they look very different from JA diamonds.

Assets are back, I don't know anything about ASETs except for what has been posted online. Seems like #3 is the best of the bunch? But is it good enough?
