Hi everyone!
I am a newbie here. I bought a round brilliant diamond and set it in a a 4 prongs setting. Something that concerns me is that I see a line that seems to bisect the diamond below the girdle when view from the side. The line appears coincidentally at the area where prongs start to show separtaion from the diamond. I am not sure if it is some kind of optical illusion or a fracture line. Sorry, I just can''t take a good photo of my diamond. Please let me know if it is normal. Thank you.

nothing to worry about, it is probably the girdle reflection.

Yep - gives you a little panic attack hey?! Don''t stress, the question has been asked so many times before, it can be a bit scary!

Yep this one pops up a lot, no need to worry, we often get anxious folks asking about this one!

I really like the pics from DiamondExpert in this thread, great example of girdle reflection.
