Hi - first time poster, this is a great site!

I''m choosing between the following two stones within 2 days, price is very close, both are round and both rated by GIA. Any thoughts would be great - thanks so much!!

1.7ct
excellent cut, polish, sym
color: G
SI1 - feather off to side of table, crystal in the middle (couldn''t see it even with the 10x scope)
girdle: medium
Depth: 62.4%
Table: 55%
crown angle: 35.5%
pavilion angle: 41%
culet: none
florescence: none
HCA: 3.9 - X within the green but outside the white

1.6ct
excellent cut, polish, sym
color: F
SI1 - feather closer to the edge, two clouds in the table (couldn''t see them either)
girdle: medium to slightly thick
Depth: 62%
Table: 57%
crown angle: 34.5%
pavilion angle: 41%
culet: none
florescence: none
HCA: 2 - X within the green and right on the white line

2nd one.
whats the lgf% its too the left on the diamond diagram with the numbers on the report and will be 70,75,80,85... it needs too be 80 or over.
Do you have an IS or aset, did the dealer have one? even a h&a scope would help....

Welcome to Pricescope!

The second diamond looks like a contender, an Idealscope image would be very useful if you could get it.

I think the lgf% is 85%. well that''s the number towards the left of the word "none" which refers to the culet. Is that what you were looking for? Is that number ok?

I didn''t get an IS unfortunately and they''re closed for the weekend. I need to decide by monday. should they scan it for me or something? is the HCA a good proxy anyway?

85% is fine.
If it appeals too your eyes and try too catch the arrows and see how they look then I think you would be fine with it. (one of the scopes would really help with the symmetry eval.)

The hca works well, but it is unfairly penalizing the second one if its well cut with decent optical symmetry and the long lgf%.

Great, thank you so much! So that makes the 2nd one an even better choice, no?

and there should be no issue with a couple clouds on the table? I couldn''t make them out with 10x, but I''ve only seen 10-15 good SI1 or VS2s stones from a couple dealers.

well i only went down 10x, i could barely see the clouds but I think they looked more scattered. they didn''t look huge.
