I need help choosing between two Blue Nile Signature Ideal diamonds that are both F color and VS2 clarity:

Price: $3,511
Carat weight: 0.70
Depth%: 61.7
Table%: 55
Crown angle: 34.5
Pavilion angle: 40.6
Crown height%: 15.5
Measurements: 5.72 x 5.69 x 3.52 mm

Price: $3,581
Carat weight: 0.72
Depth%: 61.5
Table%: 56
Crown angle: 35
Pavilion angle: 40.8
Crown height%: 15.5
Measurements: 5.76 x 5.78 x 3.55 mm

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I''m considering going for the slightly bigger one since they are practically the same price, but I''m not sure if maybe one is a better cut than the other??

Thanks!

Welcome to Pricescope!

Using the HCA here https://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp, they both score under 2.0 in the HCA.

Its a great start, but its hard to gauge how well they perform without any of the pictures, such as a idealscope or H&A pics.

I'm not sure if the GCAL images are accurate (i think there is another thread discussing their methods)

For the .70, is this the one?

I have to admit, the pavilion pictures look kind of strange (comparing them to H&A pics..)

I think this is the .72 one. with a similar pavilion picture...

They both look very promising, as Darth says an Idealscope image would be useful but BN do not provide them. Out of the two I would be most interested in the first one with that angle combo.

Yep those are the ones... if I had to pick between those two, do you have any idea which one would be best? The first one has an HCA score of 0.8, and the other is 1.4. Some people have said that an HCA score between 1 and 2 actually looks the best. Thank you so much for the advice!

The HCA isn't used for selection but for elimination. If I were choosing, I would probably go for the first one, but it is very difficult to judge properly without Idealscope images or other info. The numbers suggest this will be a very attractive diamond, but you can't say for sure without some sort of reflector images such as IS or the opinion of a trusted vendor who has the diamond in hand.

If you really want me to choose, I will go for the 0.72c stone. It lies in the upper region of the young people ring range, so should theoretically be less affected by head shadow. But as stated above, both are great stone and lies within the AGS/GIA overlap range, so any one of them is good.
