I am getting a three stone ring with a round center diamond. Here are the specs of one of the diamonds I am interested in:

Carat Weight 0.70 carat
Cut IDEAL
Color F
Clarity VS2
Polish EXCELLENT
Symmetry VERY GOOD
Fluorescence NONE
Measurements 5.63-5.69 x 3.55mm
Table 55%
Depth 62.8%
Crown angle 36.0
Crown height 16.5%
Pavilion angle 40.6
Pavilion height 43.0%
Star length 50%
Lower half 80%
Girdle thin - medium (faceted) 3.5%
Culet None
Finish
Clarity Characteristics Feather, Crystal

It got 1.8 HCA score and is an FIC. It is priced at $3080. Should I consider buying this one for the quoted price?

I was ideally looking for a 0.75 or 0.80 carat but I am not able to find any FICs in this carat range. Although I am able to find some TICs (0.74 carat for $3118, 0.78 carat for $3513. I can provide specs for these as well if needed). Should I go for a bigger carat or stick with the 0.70 FIC?

Please let me know what you think my best decision would be for these options.

Thanks!!!

You could get a .75 or .8 if you went with G color or SI1.

Assuming you are set on the color and clarity... TICs are great looking diamonds. I doubt anyone can tell the difference in cut quality. I will get to .74 diamond... which presents better value, IMHO.

Thanks for your suggestions. I am particular about the Clarity. Little flexible on the Color (Open to a G)

I had a chance to look at a 0.70 TIC Cut Ideal VS1 Color G and 0.70 FIC (the one described above), The 0.7 FIC seemed to look much more shiny/brilliant than the TIC. That is why I am wondering if I should stick with this FIC or go with a higher carat TIC.

Also curious about the approximate value of a 0.7 carat diamond with the above specs?
