Thankyou LGK, you have been a great help - watch this space, I'm sure I'll need more help soon, lol..I have a credit with the seller of the first (not so hot) stone, so hopefully he will come up with something nice. There are a couple more there at the moment, but I wish his photography were better

Thanks Lozza - now, where I have missed this oft-referred to discussion about tuckshop ladies??! I demand a link , lol !
I imagine they would be similiar in appearance, stature, odour, and tempermant - but of course I am not talking from much personal experience..

....btw, you would fit right in with your new name, too...

not nail head, obstruction.
That one needs to be evaluated in person.

The facet arrangement is pretty and the table''s a nice small (but not too small for my taste) size. It is definitely that classic flowery pattern OEC look though. I''d say it could be beautiful in person- definitely promising! If they have a good return policy, just in case it isn''t as nice as it could be. Obstruction can look wayyyy worse from pics than in person, I think if the camera is black it reflects heavily in the facets. But, if you do test drive it, definitely check to see if the center performs nicely.

Really?
Thats great to hear, thankyou Strm, Grace and LGK.
I have actually been watching this one for a while, but wasn''t sure if it would be any good.

I wish I wish the vendor was a better communicator, lol...I will try again for more pics.

Grace, I know you have mentioned this to me before - do people think a ~0.6ct stone is too small to really appreciate the flower pattern IRL?..

Hi AJ,

I do - now, maybe my eyes are not as sharp as they used to be, but that''s been my experience

. But then again, maybe this is just me? LGK, waht say you on this?

It will STILL have the fire and flashes of color though.

arms length yes likely to anyone over 35, closer no not to small at all.

Honestly, I'd probably try for a bit bigger, primarily because you're used to an almost one and a quarter carat as your e-ring, right?

I did help enable a co-worker with a wee antique fireball about a month ago, though- a .4ish carat OEC, and that thing is a firecracker. I got it sized for her and (heh heh, evil me
11.gif
) wore it to and from the bench man's place, and I was amazed at how beautiful and fiery it was in the sun, it packs a lot of performance into a small stone. However, the lovely facet pattern isn't that apparent... it you kinda had to loupe it to really appreciate it. But you do see a LOT of fire.

A .6something would certainly be bigger than my co-worker's diamond, and you might get to appreciate the facets a little more than in a .4ish. But, I'd probably hold out for a bit bigger if you can afford it- a .7-.8 would be amazing. It's pretty personal, of course, but I dropped color a WHOLE lot because I knew I wanted something a bit over a carat, I just wouldn't have properly appreciated a smaller stone.

I'd say you would certainly get great sparkles off a .6ish but, you might not get proper enjoyment of the patterning, depending on your eyesight and so on.

Thanks Karl and LGK...yeah, you are probably right. My ering stone is 1.258, and although I don't want to over power it - I guess I am used to it..
Maybe I'll be able to afford something bigger sooner than I thought - the Aussie $ has regained about 4cents today, yay! (I am going to chose to thank Obama for that, hope it continues!)..

LGK, I like your story about your friend's ring - I would've worn that sucka too, lol!

Yes, lets hope it continues to improve, fingers crossed. We have also had interest rate drops and improvements on our stock exchange today - can''t help but think its related to your new president - Obama may be partly responsible for my next diamond purchase, lol !

not 100% DiaGem - thats what I thought too, could be french cut?. But they are only small each, so not really expecting big windmills, you know? As long as they have sparkle and fire, I'll be happy..
here is another pic, maybe it will help?

(again, I would really appreciate if someone doesn't take this chance to buy it while I'm in this process, lol - thanks!)..
