Hi, I've been reading great posts on this site and learnt a lot. First time post. Close to pull the trigger on buying from BlueNile. Like the simple halo setting on RB. Could you advise your preference between these two diamonds:

Diamond A:
Carat weight: 1.70
Cut: Ideal
Color: G
Clarity: VS2
Depth %: 60.2%
Table %: 59%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick, Faceted
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 7.70 x 7.74 x 4.65 mm
HCA based on GIA: 1.0

Diamond B:
Carat weight: 1.71
Cut: Ideal
Color: G
Clarity: VS2
Depth %: 60.0%
Table %: 59%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 7.73 x 7.78 x 4.65 mm
HCA based on GIA: 1.2

Diamond B is less than $200 more.

Thank you! Christine

I guess both stones are not bad.
Just in general, when your are sending the details very important are the angles (crown and pavillion).

Mastercut, Thank you for your reply. Further details:

Diamond A:
Crown angle: 34.0%
Pavilion angle: 40.6%
crown depth: 14.0%
Pavilion depth: 43%

Diamond B:
Crown angle: 35.0%
Pavilion angle: 40.6%
crown depth: 14.0%
Pavilion depth: 42.5%

Appreciate your advice!!!

Christine, honestly (from the numbers) there is hardly any noticeable ndifference between these 2 stones. Both are very nice.
I believe you won´t be sorry choosing any of them.

Go for the second, it's a little cheaper, a little wider.

stone #2

Probably #2, but I would want to know more about the inclusions before deciding. Does BN tell you if they are eyeclean from the sides? All VS2's are not.

Thank you all! I'll check with BN on inclusion. Julie, stone #2 is slightly more expensive though, One hundred ninety eight bucks :twirl: no big deal...

Actually I prefer the 1st one. I like more the medium-sl.thick girdle (by the way the reason why the diameter of this diamond is a bit smaller).

Thank you Mastercut, I thought about it too - thin girdle may make the stone vulnerable to impact...
