Please advise, is this a good deal????

Hello knowledgable members of Pricescope. I have been looking to this board for the past 6 months or so and can not tell you how much more knowledgable I feel as I shop for engagement stones. I have already purchased a setting and I am now in the final stages of picking a stone. Can you tell me if you think $3300.00 is a deal, or if I should be negotiating more? If I am over paying, what do you think the stone is truly worth? I am buying from a wholesaler I was referred to and would like to have a better feeling about what I have been quoted.

I originally was looking at Princess cut stones, however this one really shined. My girlfriend wants a blinding stone more than anything.

Also, with an EGL# above, where can I view an actual certificate for the stone? Are they free online somewhere?

You can use this link, type in the report # and it should bring up the details of the diamond, if not the actual report. As to you buying from a wholesaler, generally I consider someone who is selling to the end user a retailer, those who sell to retailers are wholesalers. You can use the search tool above to check out the prices of similar diamonds, with a quick search it brought up similar size diamonds of H colour and VS1 clarity with GIA reports, the prices looked very similar to yours - some with EGL reports are a bit less. Diamonds with EGL reports may also carry a lower pricetag than GIA. So if you like this stone, I would see if you can get a reduction.
