Hi everyone,

I need your help to decide regarding the this stone. If i's totally eyeclean and it's total performance in terms of fire, brilliance and scintillation. How about the physical dimensions like table, depth, crwon angle and depth? how about lightreturn?

This is the link to the stone

Also im planning to set this on this mounting. It's maevona poppy in 18k white gold.

As per specification the sidestones will be in F colour. Do you think the I colour of the stone will be obvious when mounted on the setting since that it's placed beside a higher grade F stone? How about a J stone? On that setting?

please I need your help.

Cheers, Leighton

Dimensions are within the ideal range, and more importantly, the james allen link you provided includes an idealscope image, which looks excellent too.

I don't have a lot of experience with different colored sidestones, sorry.

I to F color is quite a leap my friend. I would suggest G/H but I is pushing your luck

I found a liked price diamond at JA I suggest you get called in, get the photo and jeweler looked at its a 1.14ct G SI1 its in your price range or compariable to the 1.3ct you listed above

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1452911.asp

Thats two full color grades higher, and you're only really loosing about .3mm by .3mm and about .15mm in depth

I would take the reduced stone size and go for the higher color so the side stones dont make your center stone look dingy or off colored

here's a few other H&A cuts that might interest you

My personal favorite for you would be this stone, its a E so F side stones??????? no issue here.

good luck

My feeling is that I should be fine, but I might be hesitant to go to J. The stone you have on hold is beautiful!

I agree with DS, the stone you have on hold is quite stunning, I personally just worry that F color side stones could somehow detract from the star of the entire package. I am sure whomever your lucky lady is she will love whichever combo you come up with! :appl:

I think your stone is gorgeous! I also am not so worried about your I colored center looking discolored next to the F sidestones of the setting. You have a fantastic cut and that will help it look whiter and brighter, the side stones on the setting are quite small as well, I really don't see an issue IMO. I have an I colored stone in a shape that holds color more than a RB and I have EF melee in my shank, and I don't notice a difference at all. I think you will be ok. Congratulations!! :appl:

Nice choice. I don't think the color difference will be an issue considering pears will show more color than well cut rounds. I bought a ring with F/G melee rounds in the shank and an I colored center, and the difference is very very subtle and only noticeable in some lighting and at certain angles. IMO with your ring you are much more likely to be distracted by the difference in size and cut between the center and side stones.

the stone is lovely- I think it should be ok- but maybe get the opinion of someone at JA who can see the stone up to the setting and tell them your worry

Hi everyone,

Finally, I found the stone with Brian Gavin

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.023-h-si1-round-diamond-ags-104051364006

Initially, I have shortlisted 3 stones and I emailed Lesley which of which is eye clean and she said it's all eye clean but recommended the stone above as having the best performance among the three.

Thanks for the infos that you shared. Instead of going for a 1.3 carat size, I downgraded my stone size to accommodate an unexpected expenses. This is the story:

I contacted every Maevona retailer and requested for price quotation for Maevona Poppy and several emailed me back with prices and several email me as well that that they weren't be able to give me the price due to the reason that "Maevona will be ceasing it's operation by March 30, 2012". I also noticed that there is a huge price difference in prices between Maevona retailers. So opted to the retailer with the lowest price. SO they accommodated me and they suggested that I should get a matching band as well as MAevona is closing down. I did.I order the matching band as well. So need to shave off the carat size. I'm waiting now for the the next 3 weeks.
