Platinum ... What''s the stamp?

I wear gold jewelry and have just gotten some platinum/diamond earrings. I''m curious as to what stamps are in platinum jewelry ... Gold has the 14k or 18k stamp.. Does platinum have PLAT or does it have a number like 9750 or something else?

I''d appreciate if anyone could share with me ... Thanks!

There are several different hallmarks you might find.

Platinum
Plat.
PT.
950 (95% Pure. Usually cut with cobolt)
900 Plat. (90% pure)
10% Irid. (platinum mixed with iridium. Usually found in antique pieces.)

I''m sure there''s more but this is all I can think of off the top of my head.

Mine has PT950 stamped on the inside.
