Platinum vs White Gold

Is one stronger? If I have a ring set in white gold do I need to worry about prongs breaking off?

Platinum seems to patina to a matte gray unless polished. How does white gold age?

Depends on the exact alloy and treatment used.

WG is usually rhodium plated which wears off, and these might give a slightly yellow appearance. Certain WG alloy, such as those with Palladium, do not need plating to appear white.
