I''ve been keeping my eye on this band: http://www.e-weddingbands.com/store/platflcf2info.html.

It used to be listed at $449 for the longest time and today the site says its only $308? Is this due to the huge drop in market pricing of platinum this past week?

I''m not so smart at ring stuff, but I googled platinum prices-

http://www.kitco.com/charts/liveplatinum.html

I''m also no good at reading charts, but it seems to me like there was a large drop in platinum prices... which would probably explain the price drop?

could be, or could be that they are just dropping the price b/c they want to sell more of it. There''s no way of knowing for sure unless you ask them. But IDEALLY, any platinum rings made in the last few weeks SHOULD retail at a lower price b/c of the platinum price drop. Not sure if that really happens though..

Do you think platinum prices will continue to drop? ie: buy now/ wait?

I''m no market expert, but 1/2 the time the experts can''t predict things accurately anyway right =P

I think the most important thing is to buy your platinum jewelry when it makes sense if timing is an issue. If you NEED to buy it in the next month, don''t be foolish and hold out another month just b/c you think prices will go down b/c it may not be worth all the effort and risk.

I personally think prices will stay "low" for a few months. But with the way the price has fluctuated recently, I wouldn''t be surprised if prices stay somewhat constant - I don''t think retailers want to adjust the prices of their platinum pieces every couple of months. They''ll probably wait until it stabilizes a little more then make an adjustment if necessary.
