I finally decided on a beautiful stone for my e-ring and I couldn''t be more thrilled!

Now I''m on to the next step...the setting.

I want a a thin (about .03ct) shared prong eternity. The other day a jeweler told me that since platinum is more malleable it could bend and the melee could fall out. Do you guys think that platinum or white gold would be better for this type of setting....or does it matter? Is there a noticeable difference in color between platinum and WG?

Thanks in advance!!

There are hundreds of threads on this topic if you do a search. But my .02 is that platinum is actually better for melee because it is more malleable so it holds stones in if it''s bashed instead of gold where a prong might snap off if it''s hit hard enough. Same reason why many gold rings have platinum heads...

Yep, what neat said.
