hi everyone,

i am looking to set a 1ctw diamond on the classic Tiffany style knife edge solitaire ring, however i have some question about
the metal of the head mount.

http://www.whiteflash.com/engagemen...knife-edge-solitaire-engagement-ring-1094.htm

i am going to pick 18k yellow gold for the ring and Jamesallen only offer white gold head mount but on the white flash website they offer platinum head mount, just wondering if i should be worry about the white gold head mount fade to yellowish or it wouldn't be a problem?

thank you all,
Kai

James Allen uses True White Gold which doesn't need replating and won't turn yellow after time. I got this from their FAQ: "Typically, ordinary white gold does turn yellow over time. However, effective January 2012, all of our engagement rings are made of our exclusive True White GoldTM, which never fades in color. True White GoldTM was specifically designed to maintain its whiteness and withstand the test of time, all while retaining its 75% gold purity."

You could probably also ask them to get a quote to see how much it would cost to change the head to platinum if that's what you want. JA is relatively open to modifications.

Where are you getting the diamond from? I would try to get the setting from the same vendor, if possible, so you can avoid getting your own insurance on the stone while it is being set.

hi Sortman,

thank you so much for getting back to me, it's nice to know about the True White GoldTM. i am going to buy the diamond from them.
i am on a budget and i am going to spend most of the money on the diamond so i was thinking about the 14k white gold Knife Edge
six prong ring that they have on sale for $180 cause she likes the Tiffany style.

just wondering if anyone have this setting and can be kindly enough to share pics with me, i hope it wouldn't look cheap or else i have no choice but go for the hand made version at Jamesallen which cost a lot more
