hey everyone! You guys were great in helping me decide on my wedding band for my ceremony last Sept (I was trying to pick between the matching Michael B Princess Petite pave band or the petite lace side band - the matching pave won!).
I have a new dilemma. I currently have the Michael B Princess Petite set and one of his wisp side bands. Ultimately I would like to put the petite lace in between my e-ring and the wisp but the budget is not currently allowing for this. So I want to get a 2mm plain band in its place for now to stack.
The plain band also will serve as a travel/extreme sports/mission trip wedding band. We are going to Haiti for the first leg of our honeymoon (then off to Dominican Republic for some R&R), and I don''t want to wear any of my Michael B rings for fear of losing them hiking, scuba diving, getting them stolen, who knows!
I have been looking at inexpensive bands online and have talked to Mitch from weddingringhotline.com and think I will be going with him whatever I do choose.
Do I go with platinum because it matches my set and wearing it alone will provide a little weight? It''s not that pricey (approx $240), but once I get the petite lace I will not be wearing everyday, only for these certain travel/sports occasions, so maybe its not smart to have a platinum ring that may get lost in a foreign country?
Or do I go with Palladium for $85? I dont own any, but if it is safe next to my Michael B rings (as far as scratching, etc) and the color will be basically the same (my michael b''s dont really show alot of the platinum anyway) it seems like something I should consider since it will ultimately be an umm..I hate to use the word disposible ring, but I think you get my drift.
It could be a few years before I get the petite lace to wear daily, so I''m wondering if the palladium would bother me, the color or the weight. Any thoughts? I''d love to know your opinions on what you ladies would choose.
And lastly, should I go 2mm plain or 2mm w/ milgrain? They offer both in both metals. Thanks in adavnce everyone!
