platinum Ering & white gold wedding band?

Is it unusual for someone to have a platinum engagement ring with a white gold wedding band? Anyone out there have that combo?

my guess is that it''s probably preferable to have the same metal on both just so the looks of the 2 compliment each other rather than clash a bit, right?

My close friend has that combo. If I inspect it closely I can tell a little bit of difference in the color. The platinum has a little bit of patina and the white gold is a little more silvery. I personally would want them both the same so I couldn't tell the difference, but I do think it takes some close inspection to see see that

The difference is small, but noticeable if you are looking for it. I think it''s common that people do this, but you should be careful and check whether the platinum ring is rubbing the white gold ring and scratching or wearing it off.
