Plain e-ring or band? Really need help!

Should I get a platinum plain e-ring and add my fleur dy lys detail with double claw prongs and wear a diamond wedding band?

Or should I get a platinum diamond shank with my diamond and still the fleur dy lys detail and wear a plain band?

Or does anyone have a better idea?

How would you put the flier de leis on the plain band?

Your ering design would make it difficult to just put any band up next to it. No matter what band you'd get it'd be rubbing up against the diamonds on the profile. My suggestion would be to have a band custom made to sit almost flush but designed to have a bit of space between the wedding band and your ER (Obviously you'd have to talk to your jeweler to have this figured out). No sense in a "spacer" because anything would ruin those diamonds and the metal of your band.

I am not keeping this ring, however when I bought it the fleur dy lys where added by me. So the store is checking to see if it can be added to a different e-ring ring not a plain band. I am trying to decide if I want the detail added to a plain e-ring or e-ring with some bling on it? And while I'm at it would it look better with just a plain 4 prong, or does the double claw prong look okay?

Thanks

I'm not keeping this ring. I am just having the fleur dy lys and double claw prongs added to either a plain e-ring or a e-ring with diamonds. Which is what I can't decide. I like the look of a plain ring with diamond band, just not sure which way I want to have it done.

Thanks

If you aren't keeping this setting, I wouldn't get a different band at all. It would be a waste of money. Wear a plain band with it, a plain band with milgrain, or a bead set diamond one for now, assuming you have one of those. But until you have your 100%-keeping-it setting, a matching band is wasted money.

I'm sorry, I read this wrong :/ If you're not keeping it, then it sounds like you're going to have either a very high profile (which if you're going to have them on the profile again this might cause similar problems) or a very wide band. Unless your fleurs are going to be smaller. it doesn't make sense to have them going down the shank (and it'd look weird). It sounds like you should have them on your profile or on your basket the way they currently are and just have your diamond sitting higher. with a plain solitaire, I think this would look pretty.

You might want to contact Jewels by Erica Grace - they're coming out with a setting - "Sophie" - that has some lovely fleur-de-lis details. It's not on their website yet, but they have announced it to their mailing list.

BTW I like your current ring, but I think it would look best with a custom contour band.

Hi all,

I sent one more picture of my ring how it is right now. I am able to return this ring for a full refund and yet keep the two very small fleur dy lys detail because it was custom made and added by me. (fyi...they are made in platinum)

Basically when I bought this ring they hand made the fleur's and added them to the ring which was already set with the double claw prongs. The second picture is just and idea to show everyone what it would look like with the different plain shank setting, then imagine adding the fleur's to both sides...which should look exactly like my ring does now...the head only.

The question I am trying to figure out is do I want the plain shank like the second picture or do I want the shank to have diamonds on it?
And if so, (plain shank, like picture) what metal would you use?

I would love to buy something from them, love the Sophie, but I already have money invested in this store and I am trying to keep the cost of this change as low as possible. :errrr:

I want to add them to a plain double claw e-ring setting with my diamond. Not a plain band, although that thought has crossed my mind.

LOL....not wanting to add them down plain shank...just to plain shank or diamond shank e-ring setting.
Just trying to figure out what type of shank along with the double claw prongs and my diamond, and the metal to use.

The double claw prong looks nice. It's a unique prong which goes with your fleur de lys. Keep in mind that more prongs = less light, so your diamond will not look as radiant. If your priority is on the setting over the diamond, then the double prong works. If you want to highlight the stone, consider single prongs.

Thanks for that advice. I have been wondering if I would prefer just a 4 prong look with the fleur dy ly. My diamond is only 1.01 so it's not real big and I do think maybe the double prongs take away from the diamond. So I have another thing to figure out.
