Good morning! My WF RB diamond is being set at Quest and I''m needing some guidance from PS''ers. What specifics should I ask for? I remember reading about arrow placement and polishing of the inside of the prongs but don''t know where I read this and couldn''t find any old posts when I tried to type it in the search here. Any guidance will be appreciated.

What''s the setting look like?

I recently had them do work on my ring-
they re-did the prongs
added half shank to correct for a bad sizing job
set the diamond
shaved off the sides to taper more smoothly & allow my x-prong to sit flush with wedding band

They did a wonderful job on everything.
I forgot to ask them to set the diamond as low as possible, though, so it''s not as low as possible.
(duh)

but it looks pretty the way it is.

Thank you Virginia and dbgaap. I chose Quest''s 6 prong Tiffany knife edge setting and matching band in plat. Their price was more than half as much as any other quote I received and based on PS''ers, they do excellent work. And, something about their version appealed to me; not sure what or why. Although I would have loved to have a Locke''s setting like Mat''s, that would have put me waaay over budget. I am sooooo excited!

Yeah, just mention to them that you want the insides of the prongs polished. You want every surface area to be polished.

You decide how you want the stone mounted. I didn''t know, but luckily, my jeweler mounted it so that the prongs don''t cover any of the arrows. That''s good enough for me. I didn''t particularly care if the arrows are pointing N/S/W/E or whatever. It''s not a compass so as long as you can see all the arrows evenly, that''s good enough for me.
