I am need of resizing my wife's Leon Merge wedding band that is 3 quarters pave. Does anyone have a good recommendation on where to go to resize this ring up a bit?

I'd like to go to a place that is welcoming to a customer that has not purchased from that particular jeweler (if that's possible)

I'd rather keep it local instead of sending the ring back to Leon, etc.

I'd be interested to hear any recommendations, as well. I will be needing to have a stone set within the next week or so.

I would check with Leon first as you might invalidate your warranty if you let another jeweller work on your ring.

I would ask Leon if you have a warranty. I'm not sure how long his warranty lasts. And then see if you think it's worth it.

If you still want a place to go. Joe Escobar in Campbell is highly thought of on here and is the jeweler I personally use. Ask for Erik, as he is pricescope friendly. You can do a search on pricescope for "Joe Escobar" and read other's experiences and judge for yourself.

I took my ERD ring to Joe Escobar and they did a nice job. In fact, two separate sales people complimented my ring both times (drop-off and pick-up) -- so definitely no attitude about not having purchased it there.

Talked to Leon per the recommendations on this thread... he quoted "no more than a couple hundred bucks" to resize a 3/4 pave platinum wedding band (2.2mm width) that he custom-made 2 years ago.

Of course, i'd have to pay for shipping and insurance to his shop.

What are typical costs that i can expect from a local jeweler in the area for this type of ring? It will need at least an 1/8 up size...

I would just call Joe Escobar's; they could give you an estimate, they are real nice.

1/8th size? I would question sizing it if that is all you are thinking it needs. That is really not a noticeable difference. Is your weather warm year round there? I ask because in areas that do have cold weather in the winter, that is the worst time to size a ring. It is best to size a ring in the summer when it is hot and the fingers are at their largest.

Sorry to drag up an old thread for something so simple, but I wanted to thank Gypsy, mogster, and Skippy for their recommendation of Joe Escobar. Definitely attitude-free, and in fact very friendly with doing repairs, resizing, getting quotes, etc for items purchased elsewhere. I have been working with Ryan there, and he's been great. Thanks again!

I'm so happy to hear that! I was just there yesterday myself, and once again had an excellent customer service experience. Did you mention how you found them?

Oh, we nearly went back yesterday as well, to get another ring resized. A near miss of PSers! And yes, I told Ryan that some PS members had recommended them, and he seemed excited to have us there. We chatted a lot about what a great resource PS is, and he took extra time to show me some amazing vintage pieces they have since he knows that's what I'm into. A really pleasant experience overall.
