Hey Everyone!

I am torn between these 14k rose gold bezel set pink diamond studs (1/6 carat) I1 clarity. Amazon does not state if they are natural color or not. I am shocked it is so cheap; is it just because its small?

OR

A pink or an orange diamond from Fancydiamonds.net. Has anyone worked with them before? Are the reputable? I''ve heard a lot of people mention them, but I haven''t heard anyone say they have used them.

This "Fancy Intense Orange" is $395 http://www.fancydiamonds.net/View_Diamonds/124.htm and comes with an IGI report. Or, this "Fancy Light Pink" for $475 http://www.fancydiamonds.net/View_Diamonds/1719.htm with this one though, I will really be stretching my budget, which means it will also be a while before I even get to set it. Personally though, I am really beginning to love the orange diamond.

Should I go a more traditional route and try calling Wink? Could he get prices so low?

Lastly, this parcel of 4 diamonds, from orange to pink, .10 carats, is $250. Is it worth it? http://www.fancydiamonds.net/View_Diamonds/2358.htm

Those are all pretty small. What are your plans for them? Earrings, accent stones?

I purchased a 0.50 ct natural greenish yellow chameleon diamond from fancydiamonds. It had an IGI cert which said the color was natural, and I''ve had it appraised, and it was fine.

Unless the vendor says the diamond color is natural (and not just the diamond is natural), I''d suspect irradiated stones.

Have you tried niceice.com? They can source out really lovely fancy colored diamonds and show you images, give you more information, etc. than these vendors.

I''ve heard of yellow, blue, and green irradiated diamonds, but not pink. Are there treatments to make pink diamonds?

Fly Girl, how was your experience with them?

At the Amazon price, it's either not a diamond, or it's colour enhanced. And I'd be wary of the supposed "I1" clarity. You may get something that looks more like a piece of rose quartz. However, you do have a reasonable return policy, so if you like them, why not?

Yes pink can be irradiated to.

The parcel of 4 diamonds is pretty but as it's a total ct weight of .10 they'll be really really really small.

The orange diamond is pretty but I'd question the colour grading. I know it's certified but ........

However the pink is lovely and that'd get my vote. I have one almost the same colour (didn't know whether to call it lilac or pink so now I know)! If you surrounded that with lovely white diamonds it'll look gorgeous.

As for the earrings - well they are selling them as I grade and diamonds. They look too pale to be irradiated but they could be. They're a good price but again, small.

I have some pictures and some links here about this purchase. Link They answered my questions, the shipping was quick, and the price was pretty good. Mine stone was an SI2 and there is a surface inclusion which I can see if the light is just right. Given that the stone is dark green, most of the time I never notice it. I wouldn''t expect the diamonds to be any better than what they say in the description, so ask all of your questions up front.

This one is so light!! Is it even worth it?

LOL!!!! My jeweler sourced the stones, and I''m sure he never checked to see if they had fluor. The side-stones are not natural yellows, because I wanted to save a few $$$ and because I just wasn''t that fussy about my side-stones as long as they were sparkly and well matched. So, they are irradiated yellows, and whatever unattractive color they began with had to have all kinds of fluor. The end result is pretty amazing, isn''t it!

Fly Girl, thanks for the info. Looking at your search and purchase of the fancy diamond thread now :)

It all depends on what you are looking for! I''d assume that the inclusions are visible, but it would be best to ask first. Are you just looking for a colored diamond? Is it for a ring? A pinker Pink is expensive. There are other colors that will cost less for the size.

What other colors do you recommend? The only color I am not looking for is yellow; besides that I am open. I really like grey, blue, and champagne pinks.

Any diamond with pink is expensive. Natural blues are expensive. As in, much more expensive than colorless. For the price, the browns are best. Or, go to irradiated stones. My local jeweler can locate some gorgeous greens and blues, and they are priced less than naturally colored greens and blues. They are still real diamonds. All depends on what your goal is. Or, look at some sapphires, if you want a stone almost as hard as a diamond, but which comes in a range of colors.

Actually, not so much in the small carat weights. Argyle is still pumping them out in mass quantities. Melee is a little more than colorless but quite affordable. True vivid pink is pricey, but peachy pink or lighter pinks are cheap.

I have purchased from fancydiamonds.net. They are wonderful. I highly recommend them. They have a good refund policy too in case you don''t like what you pick.
