For those who havent see my other posts I'm deciding between a .42 F VS2 (gold wire basket James Allen) and a .60 I SI1 (4 prong tiffany Whiteflash), They are both AGS ideal 0 H and A. Here are the pictures. I'm almost decided on the bigger rock because they both look exceptional and you can barely tell a color difference if any at all and both are eye clean

Here is the .60

.60 again

.60 again (sorry about that last post)

.60 again a little plain looking at this angle but its growing on me.

.42 I probably like this setting better except most of the diamond is covered.

Ok last one. In the box. I like them both. I like the 4 prong because you can see the diamond but the setting is a little thicker than I like. I still like it though. I think the .42 looks "cuter" and the .60 looks bigger. They both sparkle alot but I think the .42 is a tad better. What do you guys think? Im leaning towards the .60

I assume James allen and whiteflash would not be willing to work together. I also assume James Allen would not mount a whiteflash stone and Whiteflash could not get that setting? Am i right or should i ask? James Allen has tons of cheap ($250-390) settings but Whiteflash only 2 cheap settings $195 and then it jumps to $500

The 0.60 for sure!

Bigger is better. I like the setting too!!

Hi Jack! Thanks so much for doing a photoshoot, both diamonds are so lovely! I actually checked with JA after you posted this setting b/c I liked it so much, and they WILL indeed sell the setting without a diamond. I like it much better too, but with the .6 diamond

As to who sets it? Beats me, I''m trying to figure that out for my Tacori...

Hmm If I bought the setting from James Allen I wonder if Whiteflash would set it for me if I sent the ring back seeing as I would still be purchasing th diamond from them. Are the settings reusable? For example if I sent back the james allen could they send me back the setting or was it taylored for a .42? I'm not even sure if I would want too but i would consider it.

I like the .60...both settings are nice.

Jack, I honestly think the .60 stone looks better in the WF setting. There is no way it would be worth the hassle (to me) of buying a setting from JA and having it sent to WF. Then you''d have to pay to send the ring back, pay WF a setting fee to set the stone, and then probably pay shipping back because I think most vendors only pay free shipping once. I''d definitely choose the .60, though.

I like the .60 and the setting. The JA''s setting covers too much of the diamond for my tastes. Besides, you can''t go wrong in a simple, yet classic setting.

.60 and the setting the .60 is in would be my pick but I''d go for the 6 prong version of the WF setting not the 4.....

I like the .60! And I think I prefer that setting too

Well I think I am going to go with the .60 and keep the setting. Now the hard part will be waiting 3 months to propose...I''m waiting till we go to Germany at the beginning of this summer

Woohoo! ... by the way, No Fair, Jack, with that side by side comparison ... bigger wins!

Apart from the .60 being bigger, I really think that both the diamond itself and the diamond in that setting look nicer.
Good luck with your proposal ... What a great idea to propose in Germany!
She will love her ring and all the thought you put into it!

Yes, I agree. A six prong setting will look magnificent on the .60 stone. I prefer the bigger diamond (.60) as well.
