so this is Boris! (Full name Hamilton's Boris Karloff...) He's a two year old American Bulldog, and the love of our lives!

This is Boris and his sister Soda. My FI parents were so in love with Boris, that they decided to get one of the litter. Soda looks a little 'off' so to speak...and is very fresh, but she's our girl and we love her anyways!

This is a picture taken of Boris by his breeder when we went for a visit. We plan on showing Boris, getting him titled and possibly making him a stud, which is why he is still intact.

Congrats on your new pup! Our neighbor has an american bulldog. He''s a really sweet dog but I''m not really familiar with the breed. Are they recognized by the AKC?

Gorgeous baby! I was going to ask which was Soda in that one pic, but DOH blatantly obvious. Sheesh. They are both beautiful. Love how he sits funny on the windowseat.

ohmigosh he is SO gorgeous! I lovelovelove his face! I didn''t realize he was brindle, from your avatar, I thought he was solid black/white. He''s so healthy looking, and the window-sitting picture is the funniest thing!

How much does he weigh?

That is ONE HANDSOME DUDE! Er Stud? He looks hand carved or chiseled. Like sculpture a piece of art.

Seeing siblings together is so wonderful. What a treat that they get to socialize with one another. They make an impressive pair. Will never tire of seeing more photos, so please do when you get more!

PS...I ditto HOT''s post. I thought, cool, she named her dog after a PSer. Then I thought, geeze, what was wrong with Casablanca it is far more romantic that a foot with a flower! (ha ha! WARNING>>> that that was meant to be a JOKE. No offense to you lovely lilyfoot! )

To answer a few questions---

Idliketobuyaval- Not a new addition, we''ve had him since he was 8 weeks old...although I wish he was still a little mush baby. He was so tiny, we used to carry him around in our coats! American Bulldog''s are not recognized by the AKC, but are recognized by the UKC. We have his family tree, with all of his ancestors'' titles and wins. They are not a common breed, I''d never actually even seen one until we found ours.

Lilyfoot- He weighed 85 pounds at his last visit, but has been as high as 95 pounds. We are very strict about his weight and what he eats. We take him hiking and jog with him short distances (only on dirt roads, have to protect the hips!) several times a week.

Casablanca- Thanks! He is quite a specimen. When he postures and tries to put on his game-face, he is quite a sight to behold. It is nice that he has his sister...they play together a lot! Makes them both really really tired!

GAH! I almost fell out of my chair, girlface! Boris is so HANDSOME! And Soda''s a pretty girl herself, too.

We have an Amstaff/Bulldog mix named Bailee. She''s only 45 lbs though. Your Boris is one regal looking man! I can''t wait to show this thread to DH when I''m home later, he''s going to fall in love.

Haven- the breeder where we got Boris also breeds pitbulls and Staffordshire Terriers---those little staffordshire''s are like tanks! Cute as all heck!

Oh my god! I love them. They look so cuddly. I absolutely adore big dogs. Surely, it keeps your lives interesting that Soda has a little spunk.

DH and I would LOVE a second dog but, with a baby on the way, it''s just not happening. Our big boy is 2.5 years old which feels perfect for introducing a new housemate but, unfortunately for him, that new mate is going to be human!

Holy moly! Our pit mix is only about 50 lbs .. Boris is a big boy!

The fact that you are mindful of his diet and exercise requirements is very apparent in the pictures .. he looks like the perfect picture of a healthy dog! I love to see a nice, shiny coat!

I just can''t get over how gorgeous he is!!

Honestly, as flattered as I would be if somebody named their pet after me, I would think it was weird if they chose to use my username .. lol! I agree, Casablanca would be a MUCH better name for a dog!

Boris is quite a looker isn''t he? I keep coming back to the window seat image. The attitude he has in that shot coupled with his name, reminds hubby and I of an resolute Russian Federal Security Service Agent. Oh perhaps what I have in my minds eye from viewing years of movies.

So I hear Special Agent of FSB Boris Karloff asking me,

"Vhat are do lookin At?" (suppose my Russian accent is getting jumbled with my German one.)

Now that is a lot to read when looking at a dog in a window. But Boris isn''t just a canine and he isn''t just IN a window. He is sitting, upright. You can tell by his attitude.

Regal like Haven said. With a touch of intrigue and depth. Oh, how I love dogs! And Boris too!
