I''m a novice, so I can''t tell if this is good or not. Help!

I''ve got one more, but the file is too large and I need to reduce the resolution. Please stay tuned....

Ok, here''s the other shot. Both are the same diamond, which is a:

Princess 1.34ct, G, VS1, 72.9 depth, 70 table, 6.13x5.91x4.31, VG sym, G polish

Hi Hinese,
Are you sure?....that diamond appears to have a table smaller than 70% to me...... just going by eye....

I think the pictures look wonderful! Very nice idealscope and the picture is lovely!

Welcome back Hinese! I think the idealscope looks great! And the stone seems gorgeous! I see you took my advice about not buying a princess with just table/depth numbers. I''m glad that you did!!!

The picture does look great- but it still looks like a smaller table than 70% to me.......

The pics look great, congrats!!!!!

Could this be

... something about shape of the table more than (reported) % size: the table outline is not square but very 'octagonal' with the corners placed just so to give the longest diameter of the octgon as the length of the table in traditional measurements. Perhaps the looks is due to the smaller area of this octagon compared to a square table that would also read 70% on the GIA report.

I don't know enough to be sure, just from examples - ther seems to be some association between French corners and square table outlines for princess cuts. It would probably take dissecting the geometry of the cut a bit to figure this one and this does not come easy for me, of course.

Anyway, on that picture the table does measure 70-ish, despite the look.

Great point Ana!

I was looking at the corners, which taper a lot in this cutting design.

Great looking stone John!

Beautiful stone!

Thank you all so much for the input. I can''t wait to see it on Monday!

This stone looks good to me! The numbers are in my personal ideal range, and the ideal scope and actual photo confirm it''s a nice one! Congrats!!!

If you haven''t done so, go to this link to get an explanation of your ideal scope results
