Pic Question- Please HELP!

I'm too lazy to search and read old posts so can someone PLEASE help me.
How do you attach pics? I want to just cut and paste but I never can!

I cut something from another site and then I try to paste it but it just says "null". Can I cut and paste or is that just toooooo easy?
Do I have to have the file downloaded on my computer and then attach?

ETA: I also tried to save to my computer and then attach but either I get an error regarding the file extension or I click upload, it says done and nothing happens.

Okay, click on attach file. You have to name it something unique such as Lisaandtom1342342432.jpg
If someone else saved something lisaandtom then you are screwed so save it lisaandtome421434.jpg

You can not have weird characters. /? a short example.
Also the picture needs to be under 100kb.
Is it???
If not open the picture and up top click Edit Picture and on the right side click compress to the web and then save which will make the picture smaller. hope that helps.
