Bit of an odd request here, but I'm hoping some of you might be able to help.

My husband and I got married 2 years ago but are just getting around to planning our Chinese wedding reception that will take place this summer in NYC. Most of the planning has been taken care of by his mom, but we need to frame a large portrait of us to place at the entrance to the restaurant. If any of you have been to a Chinese-American wedding, you know what I mean. It will be 20x30" and we've figured out where to get the enlarged print. We're having some trouble picking a frame, however. It has to be a shiny gold color and somewhat ornate. We're still on a pretty tight budget, so we're looking to keep the price as low as possible, but it still has to look nice and fancy.

We've narrowed it down to these so far:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1-25-Top-Emboss...splay&var=&hash=item99aca8caf1#ht_2361wt_1048

http://cgi.ebay.com/1-5-Gold-Tassel...splay&var=&hash=item99aca8f8d3#ht_2361wt_1048

http://cgi.ebay.com/1-75-Embossed-G...isplay&var=&hash=item99ac3927f9#ht_2361wt_986

http://www.frameplace.com/xnapolen.htm - looks nice in "antique gold" but it's over $70

What do you guys think of these options? Any other suggestions, preferably in the under $50 range? If you had a similar reception, where did you get your frame? Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with the practice, but it sounds neat! I love that I'm always learning something new on PS.

Of the frames you listed, I like the third one most. After that, I like the second one you listed.

I tried to find an example online, and this is the best I could come up with. Apparently it's the wedding photo of a Taiwanese dictator and his bride, the daughter of the world's richest man in 1927. My MIL says the current tradition is to include a formal posed portrait that's taken as more of a close-up as opposed to one like this. Ours is from the waist up. The frame is pretty similar to what we're going for, but obviously ours is going to be a lot cheaper!

Thank you, MP! I'll keep those in mind. Anyone else have a preference?

Thanks qtiekiki! Your photo and frame are very pretty. I like the ones on that site, but we'd have to change our photo dimensions to something like 24x30" instead of 20x30". It's odd - 24x30" was what we were originally looking for, but we changed it to 20x30" after seeing that a lot of the common photo printing places don't print that size.

Thanks for the link! We'll probably stick with 20x30 since it's $8.99 at Costco. But it's good to know we have that option.
