Hubby.
I detest it. Call him husband, or give him a name, but please not that. It''s grim.
Definitely not! Seeing my son struggle to learn spelling words over and over and then have his teachers tell him he isn''t "trying" hard enough, cured my pet peeve forever.Date: 1/27/2010 2:45:00 PM

I used to have major pet peeves with spelling, grammar and neatness but then my dear son was diagnosed with dsylexia....What a shock to realize that my major pet peeves were probably just people who are dsylexic and were just doing the best that they can without a built in editor.
It came out that Republican lawyers were up in Alaska vetting Palin more than 72 hours after it was announced that she’d been name his veep.Date: 1/27/2010 4:06:28 PM

Vet: To subject to thorough examination or evaluation: vet a manuscript

stories have been approved and cleared for broadcast.
Hmmm....that''s not a new or revolutionary usage. Can''t quite see how it qualifies as "slang".Date: 1/27/2010 4:21:25 PM

Here''s my pet peeve: the ''big finger'' excuse. It drives me nuts to see posts by women with size 6.5-7 fingers saying they need bigger diamonds because they have huge fingers. ugh. If you want a bigger diamond -- awesome. Why justify it with the size of your finger, especially when your fingers are actually AVERAGE sized? And are you then saying that anyone else with that size finger should have a larger diamond? You like''em big - more power to you! I just don''t get the ''excuse.''
ok. vent. OVER.
That one irritates me too. Over here, we say "I couldn''t care less." Which makes a lot of sense. Must have gotten lost somewhere along the way!Date: 1/27/2010 5:01:17 PM

I forgot ''I could care less'', which makes no sense anyway.

Totally guilty of writing hubby but I do hate the way it sounds out loud. I''ll write it out from now on.
A huge pet peeve of mine is calling men ''boys''. I know it happens on here a lot but I can''t figure it out because if you''re close to getting married, shouldn''t they be referred to as men yet? And don''t men have a problem being referred to as that? I always think they''re referring to children they have or something.

Talking and driving. Today, I was driving through Home Depot''s parking lot and a woman was holding her phone with her left hand and then put her right hand out to command me to stop. This lady was in her car NO hands left to put on the wheel and instead was directing which way I moved my car. Ugh, I should have ran into her. lolDate: 1/27/2010 8:50:34 PM

my biggest pet peeve.People who drive and text or talk on their phone. Also people who expect me to help them on the sales floor while they talk to someone else!
Using a mobile while driving pisses me off too. First, because it''s illigal here, and second because I can''t belive people think that every text or phone call is just SO important they must answer or reply immediately and can''t wait 5 minutes untill they are not driving.Date: 1/27/2010 9:43:24 PM

I CAN''T STAND when people refer to their son as ''my little man.'' Ugh. It drives me bonkers. It''s all I see on my News Feed on Facebook. ''Oh, my little man is so cute'' or ''I''m so proud of my little man for eating his peas for dinner!''
It''s a baby. It''s a child. It''s a toddler. ''Little guy'' doesn''t bother me, but ''little man'' sends me over the edge.

That's really funny because I call my dog, my little man. You bet the unborn child will not be called the same pet name.

Oh and third, one of my friends is a bad enough driver to begin with that when I''m in the car with her and she''s relpying to a text at the same time I grip the seat that much tighter and silently pary for survival.
