Hi All. I am totally new here [read newbie...
] but had stumbled across Sergey''s post not too many months after discovering the full rarity of my little gem, and just had to reply somehow.
Sergey had inquired, "Chameleon diamond what change color from grey to Intense-Vivid Blue in the hand under sun? You need warm it to human body temperature and observer in natural daylight ".
I''m sorry I ran across your posts too late to respond, but I believe I have a diamond [from the Argyle mine] that display the color forms of which you wrote. It is so rare to run across some one else also aware of these stones... you are so right about the color changing feature. I''ve personally viewed this one under many different lighting and temp conditions and it is far from a typical Chameleon; appears a true color change diamond that holds its colors until the light source changes back; it is not a temporary change as seen in the Chameleon. It is such a fascinating stone, with always yet another surprise to display. I think this may have something to due with the exceedingly subtle opalescent-like sheen revealed under certain rare conditions. So sensitive is it to whatever (UV, etc) causes the color change that indoors, indirect natural sunlight (from a skylight) can cause or allow it, to render the softest apricot(?) color I''ve ever seen in a gemstone. I kid you not... like I said, intriguing. Turns from a near colorless-bluish-grey to intense greyish-blue in indirect light, then to vivid blue-violet (NOT purple, but a very lively bluish-violet in hand, under sun at ambient/body temp). Does this sound like [the diamond] you were inquiring about, Sergey?
Thanks, and I look forward to your thoughts and hope to hear if you got your chance to view one in person yet. I''d love to hear about it.
