Hi all, I''m thinking of getting a diamond pendant for my wife for our first anniversary. However, my budget is about $800-900, so not very high. I''m thinking of going with bluenile.ca. The setting will take $200 of the budget.
For the stone, what is important for a pendant? Is color and clarity that important, or should you just focus on size?
I''m looking for a princess cut. Should I look for shallow depth and larger table, so that it looks bigger? Go after ideal cut for sparkles but go lower on the color and clarity??
Help!

How about this stone if it is eye clean. http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&track=view_details_btn&elem=img&pid=LD01203393&filter_id=0

use this tool to look for a stone since cut is king. You want excellent excellent https://www.pricescope.com/sift.aspx

Also the tutorials will help too. For pendants people don't mind going higher in color and such as H, I, J. Clarity of SI1 or SI2 if eye clean but it all depends on your what you like but the tutorials will help! What a wonderful gift and Welcome to Pricescope!

ETA: Sorry I just noticed you are looking for a Princess. Princess may show color more so you might want to look for a lower colored princess and AGS for super sparkle. This thread may help you https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/please-help-with-aset-scan-of-princess.72619/

A round will look bigger than a princess in the same carat weight, which you might consider. A .25 ct round is about 4.1 mm, a princess needs to get up almost to .50 ct to have the same spread.
