Hey all,
it is my b'day this weekend, and as its also our anniversary coming up - my lovely Fi has offered for me to choose a special gift.
5.gif

Long story short, the first Tiffany's in my city opened the other day, and I had thought for sure I would find something I loved there.
It was really nice to see all of their stuff, but..the prices!

(i'm in Australia and apparently it is alot higher markup than in the US).

I got to thinking, for just a lil bit more than a Tiff's silver necklace, I could go back to WF for something even more special.

I've been tossing up for a while between a Ready Set Go diamond pendant, or the Scattered Diamond Band.
My main thing is I would love something simple and versatile that I can wear every day.

I would love to hear what everyone thinks, and also specifically from those who have purchased either item -
Do you wear it daily?
Are you still happy with it, is there something you would have changed or chosen instead?

For those unfamiliar with the items, here are the links. Budget would permit a ~0.25/0.3ct pendant / or I would select the 3mm band (~0.2tcw).

Thankyou all for the input!

I''d go for the band, mostly because you''ll see it all the time.

BUT- if you already have a large ring collection, the pendant might be the way to go. Both are beautiful.

Thankyou Geckodani.
I probably should''ve mentioned - I don''t own any rings except my 2 erings, and I don''t own a pendant, so either will be new to me.
I would have it as a RHR.

My vote is for pendant! Or could we look at some ACA''s or ES J K SI if there are any available for a pendant?

I'd also go for the pendant. Love that setting!

Happy Birthday this weekend and an early Happy Anniversary as well!

If it were me, and actually it was me when I got my PS present, I'd go for the band. I had always wanted it, but, I also need a diamond pendant. However, I really wanted more in the .75 range, which I couldn't afford. Getting a RSTG is not upgradable, so I went for the band, and hopefully someday down the road can get the pendant. If you don't think you'd ever want bigger, then the pendant would be fine.

I also knew I'd wear the band more. I needed a ring for casual, hacking around, but wanted something a bit more unique than just a plain sterling band. This fit the bill perfectly. I wear it a lot, and I love it. It has gotten pretty scratched up already, but I suppose that is to be expected. And I can always have it polished.

So, I vote for the scattered band, lucky girl.

And Happy Birfday!!

I voted pendant merely out of personal preference.

Hi Lorelei,
I have had as quick look at the range, but would be happy for you to help me look!!
The only thing is, once I started looking at getting the stone and setting separately instead of the set RSG price, it kinda moved out of budget range..

Thanks Girlie Girl for the well wishes!

Ellen, what you have written sounds exactly like my thought process right now, lol! Also, I didn''t realize the RSG''s are not upgradeable, thankyou for mentioning it.
To be honest, I''m thinking 0.3 is a good size in relation to my other jewellery - but I know how quickly that may shrink!
20.gif

Do you wear your band with your ering or on your right hand ellen?

TY for the B''day wishes!

Ya - I could contribute some myself, but I guess I'm not *that" keen on the idea, as I don't want Fi to be offended.

What do you think about the ring, and perhaps save the pendant for later as Ellen suggests?

Oh really - the 5!?
I was thinking the 3mm, as I have short fingers.
Do you wear it on your ring finger ?- any pics I can check out?

I have shorter, not terribly skinny fingers, but I''ve always thought wider bands looked better on me. Could just be me though.

I have one pic, not very good, at all. It''s hard to take them left handed, but here ya are. If you want, I can try and get a better one.

I didn''t have a chance to read the other post but I chose neither. My suggestion is buy a slightly larger stone ( perhaps .40 or .45) loose and have it set and I think it could still be less the price of the ring. And it would probably look like a half carat in the bezel. Of course I realize in the end it''s your decision. Can''t wait to see what you wind up with!

Thanks sweetheart - thats ok, I just went hunting and read through your old thread with pics. Thankyou for offering though, and a belated congrats on your PS gift that I missed at the time, great choices.
5.gif

I may go try on the Tiff''s etoile band for comparison - I guess the added bling of the 4mm would be nice though
31.gif

Jamie sent me a pic in YG, which is what I would order if I chose the ring - looks hot, right?

Sooo..have I just talked my way into the ring after less than 10 votes? lol.

Poll is still open people

TY innerkitten for the suggestion. To be honest this would likely be my choice as well - after doing a lil research on WF, to reach 0.4 even in J/SI1 will still be about $800, which is far out of budget.
7.gif

Did you see some prices that I missed?

Hrmmm do you have to choose?
31.gif
first off I was inclined to say the pendant but then I was thinking the band really thick on your middle finger would look awesome :D, I love thick middle finger rings -just another thought :).

I think a simple diamond pendant is wearable and versatile for everyday or dress up. As others suggested I would also go for an upgradeable stone istead of RSG. If you drop in color/clarity, it should be comparable in cost.

I''d pick the pendant, but that''s just because of personal preference. I think .3 is a nice everyday size and, if you wear it on a shorter chain, could actually look quite large.

OMG, that ring is just *divine* in yellow gold.... I love, love, love it!!!

Absolutely gorgeous ring, lovely rounded shape & gorgeous little ACAs... what more could you want!

Go for it!!!

I don''t know what the budget is, but I found this- just a suggestion! I think the diamond itself would come in a little under $400 US if you paid by wire.

Ooooh, pretty! Would this work aj?
Nice find Lorelei!
Your pretty much spot-on, budget $500-$600.

So if I understand correctly, the RSG pendant isn''t upgradeable - but if you choose your own ACA and then have it set, it will be?

Oohh. now I''m really unsure!

Does anybody know if the bezels are hand made or not?

AJ are you able to refer yourself for your next purchase? that could help with a bigger pendant

Hey Dee - yeah Jamie let me know straight away about the referral gift, that has kinda already been factored into the budget as the shipping is ~$100.

0.3 will really be the limit at this time.
I think another trip to Tiff's for some research is in order!

Thankyou everyone for your votes and thoughts - keep em coming

As long as it has an AGS or GIA cert it is upgradeable (I think).

My vote was for the pendant too, but I''m partial to WF pendants!

A quick question for those who have purchased this pendant - how bad is the flipping problem I keep reading about?

Does it depend on chain length/weight of diamond?

Yep, I think that diamond would be upgradable AJ, always nice to have options....

You''re a smart lady..
Hmm so far overwhelming votes for pendant..

I am hoping to get to Tiff''s tomorrow for research as I have never tried either of these, and I''m hoping their DBTY and Etolie band will be close to WF''s product.

Wish me luck, hopefully I can make up my mind!
