Pendant, e-ring, earings

Do any of you find that you like a certain color/clarity depending on the use of the stone?

I assume the e-ring gets the top you can afford, but does a pendant need more color because it is against your body?

Just looking for opinions.

Edit: I mean can a pendant handle a less colorless diamond better.

i''m not sure what you mean by that but you can easily get away with more color because pendants and earrings are most always viewed from the face up position and at a sociable distance. erings, on the other hand, are more closely scrutinized.

Well of course everyone will have their own opinion on this, but generally I think many would want a higher color and clarity for the e-ring and would be willing to compromise somewhat on a pendant or earrings. My ring has an F SI1 center stone, but my pendant is H SI1 and my stud earrings ar H SI2. These pieces are not usually as closely scrutinized as the e-ring.
