I have a diamond that was in the ring from my late husband. A few years ago I had it reset into a 14k wg prong set bezel setting. I wore it 24/7 and liked but did not love it. After seeing all the pendants with milgrain, I contacted DK about making a change but this time in plat. Well, he did just as I asked but when I received it the diamond looked so small. Now for a diamond pendant it is pretty good size 1.08 G VS EX but I felt I had downsized, not good. 
I sent an email and he quickly responded, no problem.
I went looking for another design and found one on JBEG. I asked DK to bezel it in a larger cushion shaped setting and for the sides to come down straight so I could avoid any chance of rocking or flipping. When he did the wax he sent photos with the measurements. The height was the same as my old pendant but the width was 11.75mm. I started freaking out that it was going to be too big but.....just like a good ps'er I cut out the shape and taped it to my chest. After adding the chain, for the completed look, I decided that it would be perfect.
The pendant came today and I could not be happier.
It has weight (4.6g) so it stays put and is lovely. I can't wait to show it off to my sisters. They think I'm nuts having a jeweler in LA but I like the best no matter how far I need to go. He also reset my original pendant so I have a very blingy travel pendant too.
