does anyone know how popular Pearlman''s is and how successful they are in selling their "previously owned" pieces? I am thinking about selling my engagement ring, obviously trying to maximize my return. so i''m exploring places to sell and how much i could get out of the ring. thanks a bunch!
Well, I bought my wedding band on there (previously owned) and browse there weekly to see what''s offered.
They are pretty popular on here. There are other places you can sell too, like ebay and Diamond Bistro. The advantage with Pearlmans, I think is that they handle the transaction for you and add a level of security and comfort to buyers, because Pearlman''s is extremely reputable. Of course, you the seller pays for that, and only you can decide if it''s worth it.
Having personally been burned by sellers on both ebay and diamondbistro I can honestly say that if I was looking for a preowned item, I''d buy from Pearlmans pre-owned or Signed Pieces before I bought from anywhere else.
If you piece is designer, Signed Pieces is another place to consider.
i have a tacori 2623 in platinum, so i think signed pieces would consider my ring? i''ll look at their website and give them a call. the ring has a beautiful center stone, GIA certified. the ring also came with an appraisal from the jeweler we bought it from. it might be smart for me to get it independently appraised since the appraisal we have right now only states how much we paid for it, not how much it would be necesssarily worth.
I don''t think Signed pieces would take it actually. But Pearlmans would. Give them both a call to check though, I''m not an expert on either of their policies and wouldn''t want you to think that I am.
I don''t think Signed Pieces will take tacori. I know Pearlmans will though. I have sold a few things on their Previously owned section and the transactions were always very smooth.
I have done business with Pearlman''s for years and one thing I can say is that they work extremely hard to please the customer and provide exceptional service.
